Join us for a New Jersey Warehouse and Port Pollution Town Hall

Air pollution associated with the diesel freight trucks that serve warehouses and ports has become a growing health concern across New Jersey communities. Thanks in-part to the e-commerce boom and the rise of same-day ordering, warehouse square footage has increased 34% over the last two decades. Now, at least one in three New Jersey residents lives within a half mile of a warehouse.

Join us for an upcoming town hall event with NJ Assemblywoman Andrea Katz. Engage with us on the Warehouse & Port Pollution Reduction Act (A4679/S3546) and voice  your warehouses-related concerns! This is a free event with light refreshments, networking sessions and activities included. RSVP today!

When: Wednesday, October 23, 2024, 6:00 - 8:30 PM
Where: Westampton Recreation Center, 50 Springside Road, Westampton, NJ

The New Jersey Warehouse & Port Pollution Town Hall will feature:

  • Assemblywoman Andrea Katz, NJ Legislative District 8

  • Tolani Taylor, Zero Emissions Warehouse Organizer, Clean Water Action

  • Other speakers TBA!

This Town Hall Event is focused on building support for a recent NJ bill (A4679/S3546), the Warehouse and Port Pollution Reduction Act introduced by Senator Mckeon (LD-27) and Assemblywoman Katz (LD-8).

This bill would curb pollution at warehouses, ports and other truck attracting facilities by requiring them to implement concrete emission reduction measures through A4679/S3546, an indirect source review program.

Clean Water Action and its allies are seeking to engage additional state legislators, impacted communities, warehouse workers, labor unions, local government leaders, warehouse activists, etc,on this important policy. Please RSVP today to show your support!
