PFAS are a group of thousands of human-made toxic chemicals used for their ability to repel dirt, water, and grease. Exposure to PFAS has been linked to serious health problems.
Despite this the Pennsylvania General Assembly failed to act on meaningful policies that were passed out of committee last session and would’ve addressed PFAS in firefighting foam as well as products, like cookware, cosmetics, dental floss, and menstrual products. The new legislative session coming up offers a renewed opportunity to focus on these issues. However, doing so requires greater buy in from state leaders.
Email them TODAY and urge them to do more to address exposure to PFAS in Pennsylvania.
