Howard County Legislative Priorities hearing: protect our neighborhoods from air pollution!

WR Grace in Columbia, Maryland has proposed to build a pilot project to study chemical recycling. Chemical recycling, despite its name, is not recycling, but instead a chemical process that converts plastic waste into low-grade fossil fuel or other chemicals. Grace proposes to create this new facility at their property in Columbia, where a neighborhood sits a mere 80 yards away.

Senator Lam is proposing legislation that would improve public transparency and input processes when companies apply for air pollution permits for facilities like this in Howard County, Ho. Co. 6-25. The Howard County Delegation to the Maryland General Assembly is holding a public hearing on proposed local legislation like this on Monday 11/25 at 7PM - and they need to hear from you!
