In 2024, Clean Water Action led efforts to pass a nationally recognized law to protect residents and our environment by restricting toxic PFAS in many consumer products, including cookware, cosmetics, children’s products, and apparel where alternatives to PFAS already exist. The law is simple — yet goes a long way to “turn off the tap” of these toxic forever chemicals.
Many waterbodies and sites around the state already have high levels of PFAS, these chemicals don’t break down over time, and they are demonstrably harmful to our health. The cookware industry is trying to push for an exemption to allow non-stick PFAS coatings in cookware even though we know these chemicals are harmful during production, use, and disposal.
Tell Governor Lamont and legislators to stand strong by rejecting an industry backed attempt to allow PFAS in cookware. CT residents were proud that the 2024 bill was passed and don't want to go back!
