Take action NOW on NJ’s Port and Warehouse Pollution!

A dozen advocates standing by an industrial port in New Jersey

The NJ Warehouse and Port Pollution bill (A2740 and S2339) aims to curb pollution at warehouses, ports and other truck attracting facilities by requiring them to implement concrete emission reduction measures through an “indirect source review” program. This legislation is critical in improving the lives of frontline and overburdened communities impacted by truck pollution from our ports and warehouses.

The legislation was inspired by California’s South Coast Air Quality Management District’s Indirect Source Rule (ISR). Since 2021, it is already driving down truck pollution in Southern California: the Air District estimates that actions taken so far have produced a 3% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions from over 3,000 regulated warehouses — about two thirds of a ton less NOX in Southern California per day — and have also cut diesel particulate emissions.

Join us and send a message NOW to your NJ State Senator and Assemblyperson. Tell them to ADVANCE A2740/S2339 immediately. Getting this bill to the finish line would be a critical step in making sure all communities have access to a thriving environment and clean air!
