These are things we count on the Environmental Protection Agency to protect. But right now, we’re seeing an unprecedented assault on the EPA by polluters and their allies in Congress and the White House trying to cripple the EPA via massive funding cuts and firing scientists, public health experts, and other critical staff.
That’s why we’re urging you to aggressively defend EPA funding and staff – so the Agency can continue its critical work protecting our air and water. Do not let oil and gas CEOs get their way at our expense.
The EPA sets and enforces standards to limit toxic and harmful pollution like mercury, soot, lead, and ‘forever chemicals’ from getting into our air and water. The EPA also works to clean up toxic pollution in the communities most impacted. Slashing EPA funding and staffing will harm children, seniors, and everyone else by exposing people to more dangerous and deadly pollution. Protect the EPA, and don’t give polluters the green light to wreck our health and climate.
