Critical environmental and health protections are at risk. The U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives will be voting on reversing health and environmental protections and on cutting the budgets that fund these programs.
Eliminating policies that protect clean water, clean air, and our health is a giveaway to polluters and puts people, communities, and the environment at risk. Slashing funding for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) means important research, analysis, and enforcement won’t happen for programs already in place.
We need to tell members of the U.S. Congress:
-
Don’t support bills that weaken safeguards meant to reduce water and air pollution, keep toxic chemicals out of our bodies and the environment, and address the climate crisis.
-
Don’t support efforts to cut EPA’s budget or staffing. We need to do more to live up to the goals of the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and other landmark environmental protections laws, not dismantle these programs.
-
Don’t support “Congressional Review Act” resolutions and other legislative vehicles that overturn health and environmental protections, including air pollution and energy efficiency initiatives.
YOUR VOICE MATTERS – TAKE ACTION NOW!
It is crucial that we make our voices heard now. Write to your members of Congress to tell them not to gut important safeguards. Send a message to your two U.S. Senators and your U.S. House of Representatives member today to stand up to attacks on our health and environment and to put people before polluters.
