Burning trash is not clean energy - but the state of Maryland makes us waste our "renewable energy" subsidies on trash incineration instead of wind and solar. Baltimore City knows firsthand how polluting trash incineration is, and how it can't be part of our future forever. That's why Mayor Scott, Comptroller Henry, and the entire Baltimore City Council support the Reclaim Renewable Energy Act (HB220/SB10) to end "renewable energy" subsidies for trash incinerators and redirect that money toward real renewable energy where it belongs.
