In February, US Steel had significant issues at both their Clairton Coke Works and Edgar Thomson Works facilities that caused air quality issues. It also left a lot of lingering questions about the causes, how the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) is holding them accountable and what steps are being taken to better protect communities going forward. It’s time for ACHD to step up.
