On May 14th, Trump's EPA announced its proposal to rescind most of the PFAS drinking water standards established in 2024. This is a very real threat to Californians — millions of people will be exposed to PFAS at dangerous levels because of this heinous action.
But we can do something about it. There's a bill active in the California legislature (AB 794) that will authorize the state water board to adopt the PFAS drinking water standards set by the US EPA in 2024, protecting Californians from Trump's EPA rollbacks. The bill will be heard on the Assembly floor in the next week, and it is imperative that our decision makers know that we want to be protected from PFAS in our water.
