Speak Out Today – Demand that EPA Protects our Health from Climate Pollution!

Demand that EPA protect our health from climate pollution. Speak out!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to repeal the Endangerment Finding—the legal basis that requires EPA to protect people from the pollution that causes climate change. EPA is currently collecting comments until September 22, 2025 – This is our chance to speak out before it’s too late!

Why does it matter?

The Clean Air Act requires EPA protect people from “any air pollutant” that the agency deems “causes or contributes to air pollution that may reasonably be anticipated to endanger public health or welfare.”

In 2009, EPA determined that carbon dioxide, methane, and four other climate pollutants endanger public health. Called the Endangerment Finding, it provides the basis for EPA to monitor and regulate harmful emissions from things like oil and gas operations, power plants, and new motor vehicles.

Instead of listening to overwhelming scientific consensus, Trump-appointed EPA Administrator Zeldin is claiming that climate change and the pollution that causes it pose no threat to public health or the environment. Even though Zeldin is denying the danger of climate change, that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Rescinding this critical finding will accelerate the climate crisis, cause more extreme weather, make our air dirtier, harm our health, and put our communities at risk.

Zeldin's plan is an attempt to strip away protections that save lives and slash climate pollution, while giving fossil fuel companies entitlement to pollute as they wish.
