Join us at a special documentary screening of We're All Plastic People Now, hosted by our friends at the Howard County Group of the Sierra Club – and stick around after the screening for a panel discussion, including our Chesapeake Regional Director Emily Ranson!

Did you know that microplastics have been found inside human bodies, including the brain? Would you like to learn more about potential health consequences and what steps you can take towards reducing plastic use? The Howard County Chapter Zero Waste Committee invites you to attend a screening of “We're All Plastic People Now”, a 2023 Emmy winning documentary discussing the emerging health and environmental concerns associated with plastic use. The events will occur on Wednesday, November 12th at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center, beginning at 6:00PM. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with panelists representing the legislative, health, and environmental sectors. You will also have the opportunity to support current advocacy efforts. Free snacks and drinks will be provided! A schedule for the event is provided below:

  • 6:00-6:30 - Enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks; visit display tables to learn about alternative plastic-free products available
  • 6:30-7:30 - “We’re All Plastic People Now” documentary screening
  • 7:30-8:00 - Panel discussion and Q&A; learn what steps you can take to advocate for reducing plastic use
