Big corporations are trying to roll back hard-won environmental and public health protections that Minnesotans fought for and won in 2023.
Amara’s Law — the nation’s strongest ban on toxic PFAS chemicals — officially began implementation on January 1, 2025. The law is working as intended. It is providing certainty, protecting drinking water, and putting public health first.
Yet now, powerful industry interests — including parts of the cookware and manufacturing sectors — are pushing for delays and special exemptions that would weaken the law and reopen the door to toxic exposure.
