Connecticut is out of places to put trash. We generate far more waste than we can dispose of in-state, and the cost of shipping it to landfills in Pennsylvania and Ohio is rising. We need to make less trash!
HB 5524 attacks the trash problem at the source. This bill, modeled off of successful policies in neighboring states, would make sure that more of our waste is diverted, composted, or never created in the first place. We can save municipalities money and fight litter.
