For more than two years, communities in Columbia, MD have been fighting against W.R. Grace & Co chemical company’s pyrolysis plastic incineration facility. At every step, residents have pushed against this dangerous facility, yet Grace continues to imperil communities in Columbia with their so-called “chemical recycling” research.
Recently, Grace submitted an application to permanently operate their plastic pyrolysis facility in Columbia. The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) is not required to give the public an opportunity to weigh in through a public comment period concerning WR Grace's application to operate this facility.
The community needs our help. They are asking neighbors all across Maryland to send letters to the MDE to demand a formal public comment period regarding W.R. Grace’s permit to operate their plastic incinerator 80 meters from homes and families. Send a letter now!
