Stop Rolling Back Protections for Our Water!

TELL EPA: Stop rolling back protections for our water!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Army Corps of Engineers just announced another new proposal to weaken protections for streams, wetlands, and other vital water resources. This time they're only accepting public comments until October 9, so we have to stand up, speak out, and defend our water now

Why This Matters

Streams and wetlands do the hard work of keeping our water safe, absorbing floodwaters, filtering out harmful pollution, and protecting the drinking water that millions of people rely on every day.

Over half of the nation’s wetlands and thousands of miles of streams have already lost Clean Water Act protections because of the U.S. Supreme Court’s devastating Sackett v. EPA decision in 2023. Now, instead of working to restore those critical protections, EPA is considering removing protections from even more of our water resources.

EPA’s new proposal puts polluters ahead of our communities.

For years, polluters and thoughtless developers have been looking for easier ways to bulldoze over wetlands and streams so they can pollute our water without adequate oversight. EPA’s new proposal could make that easier. This will only hurt the downstream communities, businesses, and everyday people that rely on clean, safe water.

We can’t let more clean water protections disappear!
