BGE is proposing increasing electric delivery rates by roughly 17%. BGE electric rates have already more than doubled since 2012, outpacing inflation.
And roughly 25% of BGE’s 156 million dollar rate increase proposal would go to fund the company’s request to increase its profit rate - all while BGE customers face systematic failures on customer service and safety.
In the next month, the Public Service Commission is hosting three public hearings on this rate hike - your opportunity to speak out as a BGE customer and oppose this rate hike. On Thursday 10/29 at 6PM, the Upgrade Maryland campaign is hosting a webinar to get you ready to testify!
